Chimneys & stonework replacement - progress at June 2006

 Slates being removed from the Hillside Crescent elevation. On the whole these are in good condition and nearly all will be reused. Chimneys 9 & 10 on this elevation have been dismantled in preparation for rebuilding.

Stone work and ironmongery work on the front elevations of the building.

Above: All the non-original windows on this level are to be replaced with timber sash windows.





Left: Details of the dentils between the 2nd and 3rd floors on the Hillside Crescent elevation. These are all badly eroded and will all be replaced.

Repointing on the 2nd floor Stone window blank removed for replacement. This is being done on each level. Note the high quality of the original bricklaying behind!

Above: First floor. Stone sills and panels beneath are being replaced on several of the windows on this level.



Right: New guttering and downpipes ready to be put on.
